Ancelotti overtakes Alex Ferguson, breaks Champions League record after Real Madrid’s victory

Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Real Madrid, achieved a significant UEFA Champions League milestone on Wednesday following his team’s 3-0 triumph over Braga.
Real Madrid secured victory against Braga at Santiago Bernabeu with goals from Brahim Diaz, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo. This win also guarantees Ancelotti’s side a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Ancelotti’s 116th victory in the Champions League broke the record for the most wins by a coach in the competition. Previously, this record was jointly held by Ancelotti and the legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, both with 115 wins. However, with Real Madrid’s success against Braga, Ancelotti now stands alone as the record holder.

It’s worth noting that Ancelotti guided Real Madrid to a Champions League victory just two seasons ago. Nevertheless, it’s expected that the Italian coach will part ways with Real Madrid at the conclusion of the current season when his contract expires.
