Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has alluded to the possibility of running in the 2027 presidential election. Obi made this statement while expressing his appreciation for the support of Nigerian youths during the 2023 presidential election. He conveyed these sentiments during a world press conference in Abuja, where he voiced his criticism of the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Bola Tinubu’s election.
Obi pointed out that the Supreme Court’s ruling has shaken the confidence that Nigerians had in the judiciary. According to Obi, this judgment signifies the conclusion of his pursuit for justice regarding the conduct of the 2023 presidential election. He stated, ‘The energy displayed by Nigerian youths has been remarkable, and I want to assure them that this is not the culmination of our journey but the commencement of it. We will endure and persist until we reach our ultimate destination because a united Nigeria is our ultimate goal.’
