Fubara and Wike, who are estranged, met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a meeting of state governors chaired by President Tinubu. It is unclear if the meeting will help to heal their relationship.
Other governors who attended the closed-door meeting include Bello, Abiodun, Fintiri, Mohammed, Abba, and Ottu.
Before the meeting, Wike was seen talking to the National Security Adviser, Ribadu. After the meeting, Wike shook hands with Fubara for the first time since their reported feud began.
The rift between Fubara and Wike has led to an attempt by 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach Fubara. On Monday, there were protests in the state as Fubara’s supporters stormed the assembly complex.
