Jonathan still sees himself as that child without shoes – Aisha Yesufu

Socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu, criticized former President Goodluck Jonathan for his visit to President Bola Tinubu. Jonathan was seen at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, where he reportedly went to congratulate President Tinubu following the Supreme Court’s confirmation of his election.

After a closed-door meeting with Tinubu, Jonathan expressed the view that it was time for past presidents to unite and devise solutions to alleviate poverty among the masses, stating that election matters were now in the past and it was time to support Tinubu.

However, Aisha Yesufu did not respond positively to Jonathan’s remarks, and she took to her social media platform to express her disapproval. She stated, “Jonathan still sees himself as that child without shoes,” and she referenced the concept of the “law of the lid” in action. She had been asserting this point for years, emphasizing that Jonathan had made President Buhari a viable option, despite having easily defeated him in the 2011 election.

Aisha Yesufu also touched on the violence that occurred during Jonathan’s administration, suggesting that he seemed unperturbed by it. She noted that people had romanticized his time in office and, due to Buhari’s perceived failures, turned him into a hero, a status she believed he never truly deserved.
