Abdurasheed Bawa, the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been set free after five months of detention. Reports indicate that he was released on the night of Wednesday.
It’s worth noting that Bawa was taken into custody by the Department of State Service (DSS) on June 14, 2023, shortly after he was suspended from his position as EFCC Chairman by President Bola Tinubu. The suspension was related to alleged misconduct in the exercise of his office.
