BREAKING: Tinubu to Commit N18bn as Group Life Assurance Policy for fallen heroes’ families

In anticipation of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, President Bola Tinubu has promised to allocate a minimum of N18 billion. This funding will be directed towards covering Group Life Assurance benefits for soldiers who have lost their lives while on active duty, as well as addressing other financial needs and entitlements for the families of fallen heroes in the Nigerian Armed Forces.

President Tinubu made this commitment on Wednesday during the launch of the Emblem Appeal Fund for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the State House in Abuja.

He further assured that his administration would continue to provide unwavering support to the nation’s Armed Forces and work on strengthening the Army. In his words, “We owe a debt of gratitude to our brave troops who have risen to the challenge of safeguarding our great nation. To express our appreciation for the sacrifices made by the men and women of our Armed Forces and to underscore this government’s dedication to their well-being, I have authorized the allocation of N18 billion for the payment of Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements to the families of service members who lost their lives in the line of duty.”
