The Lagos State Government has taken the step of closing down the Alaba International Market due to several violations, primarily related to inadequate waste disposal practices. This action was announced by the Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, on a social media platform. According to Wahab, the market was sealed off because of issues related to poor waste disposal practices, non-payment of waste bills, and significant violations of environmental sanitation regulations.
Wahab stated, “The Alaba International Market in Ojo has been closed due to poor waste disposal practices, failure to fulfill their waste bill payments, and serious violations of environmental sanitation regulations.”
