Future of Nigeria’s development anchored on youthful population – Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, emphasized that the future of Nigeria’s progress relies on the strength and productivity of its young population. He recommended that young people should be provided with guidance to prevent engaging in criminal activities and to pursue genuine success. Obi made these remarks on Monday.

He explained that this statement was part of his speech delivered at an event called SM Fest, an annual international business conference that recently took place in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

The former governor of Anambra State disclosed that he has dedicated significant time to mentor the younger generation, recognizing that they are undeniably the future of the nation.

Obi stated, “Over the weekend, I took the time to engage with and share experiences with some Nigerian youths and technopreneurs at an event called SM Fest, an annual international business conference in Owerri, Imo State.”

“I explained some crucial roles of leadership that I have committed to playing in any capacity I find myself. As part of my commitment to leadership, I have chosen to invest substantial time in mentoring the younger generation, as they undeniably represent the future of our nation.”

He went on to describe his own background, including his early education and his experiences as a trader, which came with both challenges and successes. Obi emphasized the importance of building lives characterized by integrity, hard work, and honesty. He also encouraged young people to actively contribute to the development of the nation and the betterment of humanity.

Obi expressed his appreciation to the organizers of the SM Fest Community for their valuable initiative in nurturing globally competitive techpreneurs, which he believed would benefit the country. He stressed that the potential for Nigeria’s development hinges on the strength and productivity of its young population and that it is crucial to mentor these youths to pursue a path of genuine success and steer clear of criminal activities.

In his vision for the “New Nigeria,” Obi sees a promising future for the country’s youth and envisions the possibility of a better nation.
