The House of Representatives conducted a screening and confirmation of the individuals appointed by the President for positions on the Board and Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). This information was revealed in a statement that was jointly signed by Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, Chairperson of the House Committee on NDDC, and Akin Rotimi Jr., Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs.
The statement further disclosed that the appointees appeared before a House ad-hoc committee, which was tasked with carrying out the screening process. During the proceedings, Ibori-Suenu urged the appointees to prove their worth and fulfill the trust placed in them by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
She emphasized the critical need for visionary leaders with integrity to lead the NDDC effectively, ensuring that the commission fulfills its mandate and makes a meaningful impact on the lives of the people and communities in the Niger Delta region.
