The Governor of Benue State, Fr Hayicnth Alia, has strongly criticized the Dunamis International Gospel Centre’s leadership for constructing an inadequately built building.
According to ATLANTIC REPORTERS, the church structure collapsed in the early hours of Tuesday, resulting in the tragic death of the resident pastor, Ahmed Sunday, and causing injuries to others.
During his visit to the site, the Governor expressed his disappointment at not finding any of the church leaders present. He emphasized that the poorly constructed building would be subject to revocation, and he urged the church leadership to adhere to the law.
Governor Alia asserted, “We need to locate the leadership of the church and inform them that the land has been revoked because we must prioritize saving lives. Those residing near the waterways must evacuate promptly.”
He also called upon the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Urban Development to intervene, emphasizing the importance of identifying those responsible for approving and monitoring the construction of this massive project, including the engineers and architects involved, in order to prevent such incidents in the future.
It’s worth noting that Dunamis Church is under the leadership of Dr. Paul Enenche.
