Inter Miami’s captain, Lionel Messi, is reportedly keen on having Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric as a teammate at the MLS club in the upcoming season. This statement comes from former Real Madrid player Predrag Mijatovic.
It’s worth noting that Messi joined Inter Miami as a free agent during the summer following the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Since his arrival, the Argentine has made a significant impact, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 12 matches across three competitions for Inter Miami.
Mijatovic revealed, “He has received offers from the MLS, from numerous teams, and notably from Inter Miami.” He also mentioned that Lionel Messi himself has expressed a personal interest in the possibility of Modric joining the team.
Luka Modric is currently in the final year of his contract with Real Madrid. The 38-year-old Croatian midfielder originally moved to Real Madrid from the Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur back in 2012.
